Why couples choose Peggy

Everything couples need to manage money together

Peggy is the only couples budgeting app built for full transparency. Connect your accounts, see each other's spending in real time, and stay on the same financial page — automatically.

Full Partner visibility

When you pair as a Couple, each Partner sees the other's individual transactions, merchants, amounts, and category breakdowns — Housing, Food, Shopping, Transport, Entertainment — without ever sharing bank credentials. Toggle 'Hide individual transactions' anytime if you want to limit visibility.

Weekly savings leaderboard

Turn saving into friendly accountability. Peggy ranks each person against their weekly budget — whether that's just you and your Partner, or a Friends Circle of close friends and family. The leaderboard is honest. The penguin's mood tells the story.

Automatic categorization

Every transaction is auto-sorted into six categories with zero manual entry. Monthly cash flow, net-worth view, and recurring subscription detection come standard — so nothing slips through unnoticed.

FAQ

Common questions about couples budgeting with Peggy

Is Peggy designed specifically for couples?

Yes. The primary feature is the Couple — a 1-to-1 pairing where both Partners connect their own bank accounts and see each other's individual transactions, daily and monthly totals, category breakdowns, and recurring subscriptions in one shared view. Peggy also offers a secondary 'Friends Circle' feature for lightweight, aggregated weekly comparison with people who aren't your Partner.

Can my partner see my individual transactions?

Yes — within a Couple, each Partner sees the other's individual transactions, merchants, amounts, and categories. That's the point: real financial alignment needs both people seeing the full picture. If you ever want to limit what's visible, the in-app 'Hide individual transactions' toggle replaces your transaction rows with daily consolidated totals while keeping category-level totals visible. Bank credentials are never shared with Peggy or your Partner — Plaid handles authentication directly.

How is Peggy different from budgeting apps like YNAB, Mint, or Copilot?

YNAB, Mint, and Copilot are single-player budgeting tools. They show you your own finances in detail but weren't designed for the couples use case. Peggy is built specifically for shared accountability: a combined weekly view, full visibility into each other's spending, and a savings leaderboard that keeps both partners pulling in the same direction.

Can I use Peggy with a roommate, family member, or close friend — not just a romantic partner?

Yes. If you fully trust the other person with detailed visibility into your spending, pair with them as a Couple — you'll each see the other's individual transactions. If you'd rather only compare aggregated weekly totals (no individual transactions), use a Friends Circle instead. Each user can be in one Couple at a time, and any number of Friends Circles.

How does Peggy connect to my bank accounts?

Peggy uses Plaid, the same secure bank-connection infrastructure used by Venmo, Coinbase, and thousands of other fintech apps. You enter your bank credentials directly into Plaid's secure interface — Peggy never sees or stores your banking passwords. Plaid is SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. Peggy uses Apple Sign-In only — no passwords are stored. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Plaid access tokens are additionally encrypted at the application layer. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which revokes the Plaid connection and cascade-deletes all your data within 24 hours.

Is Peggy available on Android?

Peggy is currently iOS-only. Android support is on the roadmap.

How much does Peggy cost?

Peggy offers two subscription tiers: Weekly at $3.99/week or Yearly at $59.99/year (save 71% vs weekly, includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers). One subscription covers both Partners in a Couple — only one of you needs to pay. Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchase, auto-renew until cancelled, and can be cancelled anytime in your Apple ID settings.
